The Ergo Pro from Matias is a high-quality, professional, ergonomic keyboard that can be divided into two segments.
With the Ergo Pro, as with most ergonomic keyboards, the dividing line is between the 5 and the 6, the T and the Z, the G and the H as well as the B and the N. If the two keyboard parts are right next to each other, the Ergo Pro corresponds as far as possible a normal keyboard with a recognizable dividing line.
The keyboard parts can be set up up to 55 cm apart.
The two keyboard parts can be placed at an angle, a total of 6 feet allow several options for lateral and horizontal inclination, depending on the position. When the feet are completely folded in, a flat position is of course also possible.
Comfortable, removable, wide gel cushions, also with feet, for the optimal palm rest, complement the ergonomic requirements of the Matias keyboard.
In the Ergo Pro, Quiet Click Switches developed in-house are used, tactile switches that are based on the black Alps-SKBM switches, but are additionally damped. This leads to an extremely pleasant typing experience that is not too loud at the same time and should therefore not be a nuisance in an office.
The switches react from a pressure of 60 grams, the pressure point is in the first third of the travel
Dedicated hotkeys for the 4 most important key combinations - undo, cut, copy and paste - are preprogrammed to be ready for immediate use.
Reprogramming is easy and does not require any special software.
The 12 function keys, the side hotkeys, the split space key, and a few other keys are all programmable.
Matias also solves the problem of the arrangement of the navigation keys on ergonomically designed keyboards.
Matias has arranged the navigation keys in their traditional pattern, but positioned horizontally and along the bottom row, similar to a laptop keyboard.
Thanks to the unique navigation cluster, the Ergo Pro is not as wide as other ergonomic keyboards. It's not much wider than a laptop keyboard.
This makes it much more convenient to use with a mouse.
Most keyboards only allow a few keys to be pressed at the same time, so they cannot keep up with very fast typists. The result is known as ghosting - letters that are missing from your actual input or extra letters that you have not typed.
The Ergo Pro has a special anti-ghosting circuit (also called N-Key rollover) to eliminate these problems.
