  • The Matias Tactile Pro Keyboard is based on the same premium keyswitch technology that Apple used in its original Apple Extended Keyboard, widely considered to be the best keyboard Apple has ever made.

Mac users who crave the feel of the iconic Apple Extended Keyboard will love the Tactile Pro. Unlike other keyboards manufactured today, each key is built on a single Alps Mechanical Switch.

The latest trend in keyboards is to have very flat and wide keys with little or no space between them. You can often see this on laptops and netbooks. While they look nice, they can also be a little tricky to type. The flatness makes it very easy to slip out of home row and get lost.

The Tactile Pro defies this trend. It has traditionally shaped keycaps that are curved to conform to your fingertips and keep you from sliding out of the starting position.

This latest Tactile Pro model offers tighter integration with Mac OS X. Just like an Apple keyboard, the Tactile Pro's function keys can now control screen brightness, volume, iTunes and more.

There is also an Fn key that can be used to temporarily revert the function keys back to their traditional functions if necessary.

The Tactile Pro makes it easy to find ™ € £ ¥ © and other hard-to-remember symbols - they're all printed right on the buttons. Just hold down Option for the lower right characters or Shift for the upper right characters.

Most keyboards only allow a certain number of keys to be pressed simultaneously and often cannot keep up with very fast typists. The result is known as ghosting - letters that are missing from the actual input or extra letters that you did not enter.

The Tactile Pro has a special anti-ghosting circuit (also called N-key rollover) to eliminate these problems. You can type as quickly as possible; the Tactile Pro will keep up.
